History of the USB Portable Blender

The discovery of the blender

A blender or a liquidizer (as it is commonly called) has always been around in kitchens since 1922, when the owner of the Stevens Electric Company Stephen Poplawski invented it. Malts and milkshakes had become extremely popular at the time, and he wanted a way to mix them up. And guess what? Equipped even with that small spinning blade on the inside at the bottom, it served its purpose well. It was a hit and gave birth to a number of juice, smoothie, and shake shops across the US. In those days, it was indeed a marvel of science.

Blender down the ages

It later underwent many small changes through the years, each iteration bettering on the previous in one way or the other. However, as evidenced by the black and white image from 1922, the new blender (pictured below) remains quite faithful to its original design. Blenders or rockets or cars, there is something about that original shape that has stood the test of time. Testimony to the human genius that was way ahead of its time!

The blender saves lives

But the blender did not only remain in the confines of the kitchen or the juice shop. Starting in the 1950s, it became an integral part of several laboratories across the world to mix solutions. It was used by Dr Jonas Salk, the genius behind the polio vaccine. He of course did use the blender with a certain custom attachment for developing the vaccine. But at the heart of it all, it was still well and truly a blender!

The blender becomes portable

After the USB port became popular with mobile phones, and then several devices which needed to be charged repeatedly, folks over in the USA came up with another bold invention. They decided to put the USB port on a heavy duty blender. And it worked! Blendervibe was not the first ever portable blender powered by USB, but today it is one of the best. It can be powered by a motor rated at 3.7V or 7.4V and the capacities can vary.

Its features set Blendervibe apart from the competition

At the heart of Blendervibe in both capacities (380 ml and 400 ml) is the same high-quality 3D six blade design that we cannot give our designers enough credit for. The use of high-quality stainless steel on the blades coupled with high-quality materials in the glass make it even more of a need than just a want. Add the safety features that are built into the portable blender and we have a USB portable blender that is capable of holding its own in the years to come. Durability should not be a concern at all.
