Designing a good blender is tricky
It is tricky designing a blender. How small
or how big should it be? How can you make the cleaning process easier? How can you make it powerful enough so as to
satisfy your every need? How simple do you want it to be in actual use? These
are some of the questions you would choose to ask. But in answering these
questions you just might end up with the perfect blender. That is what happened
to our company Vibing World Inc. with the Blendervibe USB portable blender. We
asked the right questions and came up with just the right answers to design a
blender anyone we can be proud of.
How small or big should it be?
Let us start with the first question. How
small or how big should it be? This was an easy question to answer. When we
knew that the need was to create a portable blender that was chargeable via
USB, we knew it had to be small. But not too small either. We managed to fit a
high-power motor into a smaller chassis, so we knew that we would not need to
compromise on performance just because the blender was small. We designed an
even smaller version with a less powerful motor and today offer it at a lower
price to give the customer the power to spend only as much as he may want to.
How can it be made easier to clean?
Let us now try to answer the second
question. How can we make the cleaning process easier? For this, we introduced
a one-key operation that on a double press not helps you run the blender but
with a smile press of the key causes the blender to clean itself. This is quite
remarkable since we use high quality 3-D stainless steel blades that are quite
sharp and may not be safe to clean directly by hand, should the customer want
to.
How can it be made more powerful?
Now to the third question. How do you make
it powerful enough to satisfy the customer’s every need? We realized that the
customer needs to make a wide variety of shakes. They could be healthy protein
shakes, simple milkshakes, margaritas, baby food, and sometimes even smoothies.
Sometimes the shakes are just thicker because of the quantity and type of
vegetables and fruits used to make them. We also knew that each user’s needs
would be different. Some may not want smoothies. We designed a blender that was
fitted with a lower power motor rated at 3.7V to address these concerns. For
those who want smoothies also, we designed a higher capacity blender with a 7.4V
high-power motor, capable of 20,000 rotations per minute (rpm). In comparison,
some very good blenders only manage 15,000 rpm. By designing two product lines,
we addressed the specific concerns of the customer.
How can you make it simple to use?
And last but not least, we also made it
really simple to use by implementing a design that allows for one-key
operation. We put the USB slot right up in front, where it is most easily
accessible by the customer, and we allowed the customer to detach the base from
the rest of the body for easier cleaning with just one simple motion.
